Name/Country: Hao Zhi Cao / Chinese Kingdom of Wei
Pokemon Team: Feraligatr, Kingdra, Gyarados, Blastoise
Starter: Squirtle
Background: Hao Zhi Cao represents the Wei clan, of the warring three kingdoms in China's long history. The Wu clan associated with fire, the Shu clan associated with grass, and the Wei clan associated with water, Hao is known for staying calm and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He's the oldest of the children, and by far the calmest.
Relations: He often criticizes the flaws in his siblings. He often has recommends his sisters read and study more often, often bringing up that he defeated Da, who was stronger than he was, with tact, and not power.
Role: Pokemon Trainer
Other: Hao wants to see his sisters spend less time training Pokémon, and more time training their minds, since a healthy mind often wins his battles. He has a great envy against Wen, due to her kingdom publishing "The Art of War". He doesn't like Da, who even now can often be overconfident, but the three generally get along. Yao doesn't often acknowledge him, or his siblings for that matter, but he often gets more respect than his siblings.
Sample:
It was incomprehensible. His sister, Wen, had not only defeated, but as the only one left. The battle was a long one, and Hao had given his all, but he not only lost to his little sister, but he had the advantage. His flawless strategy, his precise movements and accurate predictions had failed him. He'd raised his Kingdra too quickly, and it refused to obey him. He was disgusted to have been defeated by someone who'd began training a lot less than he had, someone who couldn't even read his tactic. Dumb luck had costed him the most important win of his life.
Looking down, he accepted his fate. He was no longer fit to help unify the land, but that didn't mean he would be a shadow of his former self. Returning his exhausted Kingdra to its aforementioned ball, and walked over to congratulate his sister.
The two shook hands briefly, before Wen pulled him into a hug. There, the two cried, and accepted that it was now her turn to act. They both looked into one another's eyes, before smiling, and
letting go of one another.
"Win Xin Sun... I'd like to see you unify the land. I've been defeated, fair and square. Don't let it get to your head. If you cannot put your pride behind you, you will fail."
Characterization: I'm not sure what to put here.
