Name/Country: Atawhai Hoa/New Zealand
Age: 15
Pokemon Team:
Level 31-Ampharos- It all started with a tiny, tiny Mareep egg given to Atawhai by her momma at the young age of seven. She named him Hohepa, which means 'he will enlarge' in Maori. He did indeed, enlarge. Everyday, little Atawhai walked around with the egg in her arms. She talked to it daily, and took it pretty much everywhere. One day, when Atawhai was walking around her hometown, the egg started to move. She set the egg down and waited for what seemed hours to her small impatient, childish brain. Finally, a small Mareep hatched from it, and walked, or should I should I say, wobbled to Atawhai's lap. Since that happy day, Hohepa and Atawhai have been together.
Level 19-Flaaffy- When Atawhai found Hiwarau in the wild, she couldn't get to a pokemon center any faster. The pokemon was not only burned, but also surrounded by a pack of angry Ninetails. Atawhai took out Hohepe, and fought against the Ninetails until they were running away with their nine tails between their legs. Yeah, all nine. Hiwarau means 'Crowd' in Maori.
Level 14-Mareep- this pokemon, named Kaihautu, which means 'Leader' in Maori, is the most laid-back and careless pokemon Atawhai has ever laid eyes on. Even more careless and laid-back than Atlas, Herakles' Snorlax. All it does is nap on Rongo's back and bother Hohepa. In the back of Atawhai's head, she wonders if Kaihautu is Herakles in disguise, trying to get away from work.
Level 3-Mareep- Tino Aroha is a special Mareep. She's significantly smaller than most Mareep. Because of this, Atawhai treats her more like a pet than a pokemon. Tino is almost always out of her pokeball, and in the arms of Atawhai. Tino wears a collar with an everstone hanging from it.
Level 33-Stoutland- This dog-like pokemon was originally Atawhai's mother's Herdier, but once it evolved it got much too big and was sent to Atawhai where it can roam freely. He is very helpful when it comes to keeping things under control in the sheep-pokemon herd. He breaks up fights, and makes sure eveything is fair. He also has a slight softer spot for Tino Aroha, but it's nothing his gruff exterior shows. His name is simply Rongo, (meaning 'Peace') because he keeps the peace.
Starter: Hohepe as a Mareep.
Background: Atawhai was born into a family of 3. Momma, Poppa and Lillipup. Lillipup was a very sweet pokemon, who didn't mind sharing Momma and Popppa's attention with the human baby. Atawhai's parents loved pokemon, and wanted their only daughter to love pokemon as they did. Infact, Atawhai's first word was not momma, or poppa. It was Lillipup. Growing up, Atawhai's days were spent playing with the pokemon around her hometown with her parents, and correcting pokemon teachers as she got older. Around this time she realised that being a pokemon trainer wasn't the only option for her. She could help pokemon and still stay near her family. One day at pokemon school, Atawhai told the teacher of her dream to help wild pokemon. The teacher mentioned the Pokemon Rangers and gave Atawhai some papers to take home. Her parents gave it a look-through, and at the age of 10, Atawhai became a Pokemon Ranger's Apprentice! Everyday, Atawhai ran to the Ranger's HQ, and learned from the best, the boss! The boss must've been very fond of Atawhai, because when he died two years later, he put in his will for Atawhai to be the new Pokemon Ranger Boss. Ever since, it's been Atawhai's job to make sure the rangers are doing their job, and help wild pokemon... but one day, she helped a human. He was lost in the forest, his pokemon on the brink of fainting... and Atawhai helped him, and his pokemon. She gave him a job as a Ranger. That was the first time Atawhai ever helped another human being. It was probably the last as well, because that man gave the species a bad reputation by just living!
Relations: Much like Herakles, Atawhai can get along with most people. Atawhai really likes Herakles (like.... really likes him) but thinks he's completely useless. She will never regret giving him a job as a ranger. Other relations are TBA.
Role: Ranger (boss)
Other: Atawhai can never get enough music from her home country, New Zealand. She keeps an mp3 by her side at all times. (I still like trains, just so you know. :I)
Sample:
Paperwork.
Atawhai hated it. Oh, she hated it so much. She would much rather be outdoors with her pokemon, but no.
She had to do paperwork. What fifteen year-old writes out checks and looks through resumes?
She let out a small sigh and countinued working. Her eyes drifted to the pictures propped up on her desk. There was two pictures of her wonderful parents, one of Hohepe, and one of the boss that taught her everything she knew. A small smile appeared on her face, and her the paperwork became a little less annoying.
What kind of fifteen year-old wrote out checks and looked through resumes?
One that was taught by the best.
